Why am I always fighting in my dreams?
I am a blackbelt in Tang Soo Do and have been doing it for three years now, but I haven't had this problem before. In my dreams I'm in all sorts of situations and I'm being attacked, often by things that do not exist in real life like a shapeshifter or a woman with a styrofoam wig head for a head. Often times blows that would, in real life, be lethal have no effect on the aggressor. Sometimes I'm by myself ansd sometimes I'm protecting others as well. In every dream I just manage to hold them off and whenever I gain the upperhand, my opponent becomes greater, more powerful, scarier, and more imaginary. The strange part is that sometimes I have my dan gum (practice knife) in my hand and am fighting with that, but when that happens I always get confused and desperate and stap someone I know and don't want to hurt like my friends brother or my dad. These have been hapening more and more often. What do they mean?
I always used to have the same dreams. I am not trained in fighting in any way whatsoever, but all of my dreams were usually not only a fight, but also a struggle. (Usually one that could not be won.) I was told that this indicates a feeling of helplessness usually brought upon by a large amount of stress. If you've ever slept next to someone, do they mention you grinding your teeth? My dreams like this went away after my schedule calmed down and my stresses disipated. My family and friends were often in my dreams and I had to kill or hurt others to protect them and this is an indication of a fear that those close to you may get hurt. Perhaps even it's a guilt for not being around enough. I imagine that when you feel terrified that you will accidentally hurt your family it means that you subconsciously have guilt that your schedule is hurting them (even though you most likely do the things you do, at least in part, to make your family proud)
