I guess you have heard people say "If it has not been worn in a sixth month period then you need to get rid of it, either by giving it away or taking it to say a Jumble Sale, or to a Charity Shop." Now while all those are good ideas, you end up with not much, less clothes and no money. How about looking at this another way. Still empty your cupboards and cut down on the clothes, but then make some money to go and buy some more clothes. Yeah but I can hear you saying I do not want to get up and do car boot sales, it is too early and I do not like the rain and the cold. Well good news you do not have to. There is another way, a way that lets you keep warm and dry, and a way to sell your items all over the world. The way I am talking about is eBay. Yes it is true, you can sell used and new clothing on eBay.

But as with anything there are a few ground rules and tips that you need to follow to make sure that you get the best possible prices for your clothing.

1) The first step that you need to take is to sort your items into different types of clothing - Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. And then sort these into things like Holiday wear, casual wear, work/business wear, this will help you when you are doing your listing and will speed up the process. Also you can sort the items into different sizes.

2) When you have done this you need to make sure all the items are clean and smell good, and there is no damage to the items - but a tip here, do not worry if there is some damage to brand named item, you can still list these as long as you tell people and are honest and open with them

3) The next stage is to photograph your items. You need to take your time with this as good photo's will sell your items. You need to use a digital camera and also use a tripod to give good pictures Now some people use a mannequin to show off their clothing and you can always buy these mannequins on eBay.

One last thing we need to mention before we leave the picture section is that you need good lighting. This can be natural daylight or using some of those work lights that you can buy from DIY stores.

4) Once the pictures have been taken, you may need to do some editing here and there. Spend a bit of time doing this but do not go overboard on this.

5) You are now ready to start to list your items and upload them to eBay. Always be honest with people, if there are marks on the clothing, tell people. Also when you are selling clothing be honest with people, do not say it is a so and so label when it is not just to get people to look at your listing eBay does not like this and will either pull your advert or sometimes ban you. As long as you follow the rules you will be OK.

All that's left now, is for you to go and find those items of clothing and start to list them, have fun and make some money.
