Mannequin Band

I have a 9 week old puppy, who I have had for 3 weeks. He is biting people mostly flesh (toes, hands, arms, whatever) and pant legs. I have been trying to get him to stop but nothing seems to be working. Sometimes its not bad but when he is being really playful he gets excited and bites harder. Also after playing with other dogs he thinks he can play with us as rough as he plays with him. He is doing great on all other areas its just the biting that I am worried about. He has learned not to go out of the yard, to sit, go to the door to use the bathroom and such but doesn't get no and when I take him off of my, make him let go of say my leg he thinks it is a game and comes back to wrestle and bite. He has plenty of toys he loves to play with. He doesn't chew up the furiture and when caught biting the carpet will stop when told so but not on human flesh. He loves anyone and everyone but he jsut bites. Any suggestions?

He also has allergies to the grass/weeds I believe that need help.

For puppies, much of playtime is spent using their mouths and needle-sharp teeth to chew and investigate objects. These activities are normal, harmless puppy activities—unless you’re the object being chewed and investigated! Puppies love to play with people. They chew on their fingers and toes, and they investigate people’s bodies with their mouths and teeth. These behaviors may be considered cute when the puppy is seven weeks old, but are not nearly so endearing when the puppy is four or five months old. Although mouthing and nipping tend to diminish as the puppy matures, here are some helpful tips to get you through your pet’s teething period:

WHAT TO DO:
- Substitute a toy or chew bone when the puppy tries to chew on fingers or toes.
- Puppies tend to mouth hands whenever stroked and patted. When you pat the puppy, distract him by feeding tiny pieces of treat from your other hand. This will accustom the pup to being touched without mouthing.
- Give a high-pitched yelp, as if you are in pain, when the puppy bites too hard. This should startle the puppy and cause him to stop, at least momentarily. Praise the puppy for stopping and/or for licking you.
- Time out can be effective, especially for curbing mouthing in older puppies and adolescent dogs. When you receive a hard bite, give a high-pitched yelp and (a) walk away from the puppy and ignore for 30-60 seconds, OR (b) leave the room for 30-60 seconds. Option B is only feasible if your belongings will be safe from the puppy and if the puppy will be safe left where he is.
- Encourage non-contact forms of play, such as fetch and tug-of-war, rather than wrestling and rough play.
- Provide plenty of interesting and novel toys so the puppy will be inclined to play with these.
- Provide plenty of opportunity for your dog to play with other puppies and with friendly adult dogs. It’s important that he can engage with non-human playmates.
- Be patient and understanding. Playful mouthing is normal behavior for a puppy or young dog.

WHAT NOT TO DO:
- Avoid enticing the puppy to play by waving your fingers or toes in his face or slapping the sides of his face.
- You should not discourage the puppy from playing with you. Play builds a strong bond between the dog and his human family. The objective is to teach the puppy to play gently—not to stop play altogether. - Avoid jerking your hands or feet away from the puppy when he mouths. This encourages him to jump forward and grab at you. It’s much more effective to let your hands or feet go limp so you aren’t much “fun” for him to mouth.
- Physical punishment for playful mouthing (slapping, hitting, etc.) can make the puppy afraid of you and could even cause the mouthing to escalate into aggression. We’ve heard of various “caveman” methods such as scruff shaking, whacking the pup on the nose, sticking fingers down a pup’s throat—these are cruel and inhumane.

Bite Inhibition
Teaching a puppy to modify his mouthing behavior is an opportunity to teach him bite inhibition. Bite inhibition refers to a dog’s ability to control and inhibit the force of his mouthing. A puppy or dog who hasn’t learned bite inhibition may not recognize the sensitivity of human skin and bite too hard, even in play. Some behaviorists and trainers maintain that a dog who understands the amount of force necessary to hurt people, if ever in a situation where he does actually bite a person in a non-playful manner, will be less likely to bite and break skin.

To teach your puppy bite inhibition, first you will encourage him to play with your hands. Continue play until the puppy bites especially hard. Immediately give a high-pitched yelp and let your hand go limp. When the puppy startles and turns to look at you or looks around, remove your hand. Ignore the puppy for 10-20 seconds or, if he resumes mouthing, get up and move away for 10-20 seconds.

The next step is to return and encourage the puppy to play with you again. This is critical for teaching the puppy that if he is gentle, play continues--but if he is too rough, play stops. Play with the pup until he bites hard again and repeat the sequence. As you detect that the puppy is inhibiting those really hard bites, target slightly less painful bites. Persist with the process until the puppy can play with your hands but control the force of his bites to the extent that you feel little or no pressure at all. This can take as little as a day, or as long as a few weeks.

When Mouthing Become Aggression
Puppies sometimes have temper tantrums. Usually a tantrum will happen when you are making the puppy do something he doesn’t want to do. This might be as benign as simply handling or restraining him. A tantrum can also occur when play escalates, much the same as when children play and one child gets upset and angry. A puppy temper tantrum involves more than playful mouthing, but it isn’t always easy to tell the difference.
Possible indicators that your puppy is having a tantrum include:

- He may become quite stiff in his body.

- He may pull his lips back to expose his teeth.

- Almost always, the bites directed toward your hands will be much more painful than what he may inflicts during play.

If you think your puppy is having a tantrum, it’s best to take a firm hold on him, tell him, “That’s enough!” and immediately carry him to a quiet, confined area, such as a small room or his crate. Leave the puppy for no more than five minutes. When you return, resume whatever you were doing with the puppy before the temper tantrum--assuming it was something the puppy needs to learn, such as how to remain still for body inspection or during grooming, or if you were attempting to teach him appropriate play behaviors

Some puppies may exhibit behavior that goes beyond the basic tantrum. If you believe that your puppy is biting aggressively, you should definitely seek help from a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, Veterinary Behaviorist, or Certified Professional Dog Trainer.

The Stool in the Quran.

The Quran mentions the stool of the cattle once. The Quran says that the cattle produce their milk from a mixture of the digested food and the blood.

To the best of my knowledge, the Quran is the first book on earth that describes in few words how the milk is produced.

Nevertheless, the Quran says that all the messengers sent by Allah used to eat food, i.e., they used to defecate stool. Production of stool upon eating food is a characteritic phenomenon of human beings. Allah, the Lord does not eat i.e. never produce stool.

Also, the Angels do not eat i.e. never produce stool. All the messengers (Prophets) ate food i.e. produced stool. Jesus used to eat food i.e. produced stool. This means that He was no more than a Messenger and neither God nor Son of God.

All the messengers (Prophets) ate food i.e. produced stool.

Surah 21:7-8

[7] Before thee, also, the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: if ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message.

[8] Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death (nor were they immortals).

Surah 25:20

And the Messengers whom We sent before thee were all (men) who ate food and walked through the streets: We have made some of you as a trial for others: will ye have patience? For Allah is One Who sees (all things).

Jesus used to eat food i.e. produced stool. This means that He was no more than a Messenger and neither God nor Son of God.

Surah 5:75

Al-Masih, the son of Maryam (Jesus), was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth make His Signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!

This is a great added measure for home security to discourage thieves from possible break-ins.

any good decorating tips/websites for first time apartment renters?

My sister, a long time friend and my are all planning to move into a 3 bedroom apartment together. We are all females in the 20-21 age range. I'm looking for websites/and or (online) stores in which we kind find trendy and contemporary styles for living and bedrooms. Any good ideas on affordable stores....I've been looking everywhere and haven't come across anything REALLY good yet. Our living room is going to be navy and a lime/earthy green and white. We are needing furniture for the room so it would be nice if the website sells decor and furniture. PLEASE, SOMETHING REALLY AFFORDABLE, nothing too luxurious and over priced...thanks!!!

View Jonas Burgert Artist Exhibitions and Paintings

Jonas Burgert was born on 1969 in Berlin. A fantastical cast of characters, both animal and human, keep watch over a glowing white orb; the prize of the MondjÃ¤ger (or "Moon Hunter") referred in the painting's title. The elaborately layered scene, with its dramatic lighting, exotic costumes and sweeping, stage-like staircase, is wonderfully theatrical. "To do something strange, like pick up a planet, it is first necessary to change one's mind and body to become a part of a ritual," says Burgert. "One needs spiritual copies of oneself in order to have a dialogue between one's inner characters."

Jonas Burgert is a painting about female power, and the polar instincts of intimacy and aggression. Six women are gathered together in a strange environment, their dress and choices of weapon each representative of a different moment in time from prehistory to the present. They sit, squat and stand calmly as if debating some sort of violent offensive, the cue for which will come from the central figure caught within the blue crosshairs. Strange creatures move between them, while behind, on a mazy backdrop of golden, latticed wallpaper, hangs a constellation of spherical forms; a conscious juxtaposition on the artist's part of "the meditative chaos of nature and the interrelated elements of human cultures".

It's basically about how she is. She likes doing what she wants, when she wants and she has her heart set on doing exactly that.

I remember years back she said in an interview "I know not everyone will like me, but this is who I am so if you don't like it, tough!"

That's what its about, if you like her and what she does, then that's great but if you don't than you can "Cry again and again" (judge her and hate on her) or "Scream your lungs out" (get mad about her decisions or her choice to do whatever she wants), but her face is like a "Mannequin" (bascially she doesn't give a sh*t what anyone says because she will do whatever she wants anyway and she won't let anyones judgments impact her, like how Mannequins have blank faces, she won't be reacted by anyone's judgments)

represents she isn't going to let herself get affected or sad over judgments.

Does anyone know what is the best, most inexpensive, headless female mannequin to use in a boutique display window?

Call a seamstress. They use body forms and you can have it fillout wherever you need to make it fit your garment properly. If it is for a narrow wasted busty person you turn the waist crank to make it smaller and the bust one to enlarge. I think they are called bodyforms. They are headless and female!! YES.....FEMALE!!! THEY HAVE BREASTS!! (sorry that is for the first person who answered!)

Once you've decided to purchase a wire dress form you might think it would be simple to make a choice, especially when you want to buy it online. There are literally hundreds of wire dress form offers available on the Internet and there are several e-stores whose main product is these rather uncommon items. Despite that, oftentimes buyers are left with an unusable piece of wire - and the store that sold the dress form isn't always to blame. So, if you don't want this problem, here are some considerations ...

1. What is your reason for wanting a dress form?

A wire dress form isn't a common item that you can buy casually. If it is to be perfect for your form, it must be customized for your shape. Hanging clothes on a mannequin, and then being able to step back from them, is a much surer way to ensure that your new clothes fit perfectly.

* A professional, on the other hand, must properly fit a multitude of sizes, and therefore may need several wire dress forms in the most popular shapes and sizes.

* A shop owner, of course, maximizes her clothing sales when her garments look great and entice buyers with visions of how good they will look wearing the clothing. Size is mostly irrelevant.

3. Prices of wire dress forms:

There isn't a standard price for dress forms because they come in all sorts of price ranges, although none are truly inexpensive. Here, the home sewer is in the best position, because she don't need anything especially elegant or fancy since size is all that matters, not the looks of the form.

Merchants and store managers are the ones who must pay the most since the form is an item of display, rather than being simply functional. Even the most beautiful garments will look tacky on an ugly form and sales will suffer.

Perhaps the most important consideration is that wire dress forms absolutely should last for years. Buying one that is too cheap just might result in the need to replace it too soon, meaning that you will end up paying more than you would have done if you'd bought a good one in the first place.

Second, fabric and sewing shops have some very good forms available including upper torso, lower torso and pant forms. If you search for sewing, fabric and notion stores on line you will find plenty of options. Finally, there are manufacturers and dealers who sell professional quality forms for the industry in all sizes, from standard misses' to plus sized, petite, children's and men's.
