What's a good type of armor for a female elf in my story? Realistic please (Not bra's and thongs)?
a metallic bra and thong

Ladies & Gentlemen
I am beginning to realize that the art of chivalry is dying and I have noticed that the art of decency is going, that the need for independence is upon us and the ability to be honorable is essential to us, that too many men and women are no longer ladies or gentlemen and that it is about time we went over what might be required to restore some kind of stability into our relationships.
Now, boys, in case you were unaware, being a gentlemen is one of the most attractive qualities a man can possess; it shows good manners, it shows respect, but above all it shows that you are not afraid to be sensitive to the feminine side of a woman. And being a gentleman is not that hard if you just follow a few basic rules. In fact, being a gentleman is the best way to weaken her resolve and gain her admiration - remember, if one woman thinks you are a gentleman, then she will probably convince her friends that it is true, and there is no harm in that.
So, where to start - here are some simple steps to take:
Call when you say you will. Arrive at the time you agreed. Walk on the outside of the sidewalk (don't ask, just do). Open doors for her (cars and buildings). Guide her safely across the road (by the arm or hand if appropriate). Drop her home first (and if she leaves you, then call or text to check she made it home safely). Listen to her when she talks. Ask questions. And listen to the replies too. Don't check out other women when you are with her. Allow her to nag once in a while - women are, above all, over-analyzers. Apologize if it is appropriate. Be there for her if she really needs you. Don't be afraid to be a gentleman. You can still be a guy, you can still be into sports, you can still be cool; but be a Gentleman.
As for the female of the species, I have noticed that the damsel in distress is often taken too far; as is the "I'm a CEO, you don't need to worry about me" - which both lead to confusion and then upset. Girls, do not be afraid to be a lady, that means you should be able to allow a man to take charge so long as it is respectful, you should be able to hold your own in conversation without having to over-power your man, you should not off load every little issue that arises in your day and then ignore his advice should he choose to give it. Today, too many women arrive with too much baggage, and most of the time it is baggage that is totally unnecessary and completely drama-driven - this is not attractive and although you may wish to be the damsel that he saves, there is no good being the nightmare that he wishes he never had.
And so, girls, here are some pointers:
Be gentle. Yet strong. Be eloquent. But not loud or bossy (there is nothing less attractive than a matron). Be assertive without being controlling. Walk confidently. Know what you want. But be flexible. Leave your petty dramas in the dog basket or the cat litter. Try to stay on point (no rambling on about your best friends boyfriend's friend). Do not over analyze. Do smile and laugh. Do say thank you. Do offer to pay once in a while. Do pay if he accepts. Do not accept disrespect. Do expect decency and good manners. Be prepared to open your mind to other pursuits. Try to get along with his friends. But do not become one of the boys. Allow him to make the odd mistake - men are, above all, stupid. Keep him on his toes by living your own life when he is not around. And do not stop seeing your friends. Ever. You can still be feminine, you can still be into fashion, you can still be sexy; but be a Lady.
I hope that these simple steps might assist in restoring some basic and fundamental actions into your relationships, which might assist in women becoming less needy (because they know that men are gentlemen) and men becoming more respectful (because they know that women are ladies).
Ladies & Gentlemen, please stand up and be counted.
