Frontal body damage and collision on '96 Ford Taurus...repair cost??
I own a 1996 ford taurus and it has dents on both front fenders from collision and the hood has been wedged up because of it. The hood and its hinges are ok even though they are displaced. But the fenders and the internal components inside each fender body panel has been damaged and pushed in. Also the peace of what looks like black fiberglass that sits between the hood and the frame is split. I want to completely replace the front fenders and possibly the front end/hood. But I was wondering how much that might cost.....
ok, people are considering things I didnt even mention. I would like to reiterate; IT ONLY NEEDS BODYWORK. BOTH FRONT FENDERS, A FRONT BUMPER AND MAYBE A HOOD AT THE MOST. THE ONLY THINGS INSIDE THE ENGINE BAY THAT NEED WORK ARE SOME OF THE BASIC MOUNTS FOR THINGS LIKE THE BATTERY AND OTHER ITEMS. I know a collision shop can do it but I only wanted to know how much it may cost to replace the parts I just mentioned and repair the secondary items (battery mount, etc.)
It will not be cheap if you use new parts. Your car is common enough and old enough to find all the parts that you need to bolt on at wrecking yards for a fraction of the cost. If you are lucky, you might even find the same color eliminating the need to repaint.
