im trying to start an online store and wondering how to display my cloths like wetseal and gojane online store?
hi, im trying to start an online clothing store and was wondering how to display clothing like wetseal and gojane display thier cloths online? they arent using a mannequin? here is a good example of thier clothing display: http://www.gojane.com/34844-tanks-metallic-floral-print-tank.html and here is one from wetseal: http://www.wetseal.com/catalog/product.jsp?categoryId=101&subCategoryId=115&productId=24771
how do they make it look like the clothing are not on a mannequin, but still show the form of the clothing? i imagine that they have a photo studio and im guessing that they photoshoped the image somehow, if thats the case im great with photoshoping but i just dont know were to start?
For an online store the most important aspect of sales is the visuals, you may not (now) have enough funds for a studio to run the online site through, but don't be
discouraged just improvise. Since you're comparing your company to GoJane and Wet Seal is probably a younger line. I would recommend using models for your online clothing store. Not actual "models", but since it sounds like your brand of clothing is meant for young girls and teens, a good idea would be to find some cute girls whether from your family or kids from your child's school (get the other parents permission first). Online stores lack the ability to actually try on the clothes, so your goal is to have your clothes as visual and realistic for your consumers, maybe finding a park or a location with great scenery and lighting may have your product stand out more. Mannequins and other types of photo shopping displays are usually pinned in the back to help show the shape of the clothes and are altered to look perfect on the mannequin...not the person. So what I'm trying to say is people are drawn to what they see other people doing, wearing, or perceiving and want to do just that. Also think about make-up sales, people usually buy the colors that are worn on the model in the magazine because they see what it looks like automatically without having to guess what that shade of color might look like on them, and those colors usually sell more.
