jack's mannequin- why do so many of the songs have references to glass?

many more in other songs...
Hm, I can't think of any other references... oh, except for "think it's time I broke some glass" in Caves... and "when my eyes turn to glass" in Annie Use Your Telescope. So I guess it does come up a few times. There are tons more references to sky/space/stars though.
