is it normal for a male child age 5 yrs. old and likes to play barbie dolls.?
my sister and her husband has a 2nd child a boy, he likes to play barbie dolls with his older sister, he knows how to dressed up the barbie and put some make up on and comb the hair. i gave him one time a nice set of GI JOE toys and a racing car game set, but he never play with it and leave it under his toys box. i always wondering maybe he will turn gay when he gets older, because when i was a kid i also likes to play barbie dolls and now im gay. im scared i just don't want him to be gay. do you think playing dolls when you are a toddler or in preschool age can affect or make you gay?
Playing with dolls isn't going to MAKE him gay. The fact that he likes to play with them may be a sign...But maybe not...
When I babysat my cousins, the girl was 5 & the boy was 3, I'd put make up & nail polish on the girl & the boy wanted to have fun too. He wanted to have his nails painted. He's 18 now & soo not gay, lol.
My own son used to play with my make up, want to spray hairspray,etc. But that's just be cause he seen me do it (I was a single mom). No big deal. I was never scared he'd be gay.
I've heard that you can usually tell when a kid is going to be gay by the time they are about 3 years old. If a boy starts playing with stereotypical girl toys, he may be gay. If a girl plays with stereotypical boy toys, she may be gay. I'm no doctor, this is just what I've heard.
My son, 4, plays with his little sister's dollies with her. He pushes them in the stroller & he puts them in the high chair to feed them, etc. But I think that that is just nurturing behaviour. And my little girl (18 mo.s) likes to play with his cars & trucks. She makes 'vrooom, vroom" noises too. But I don't think either of them are gay.
I guess you just have to wait & see.
And if you're gay, don't you understand that it's something that can't just be changed?? Or prevented...?
