can't find the good photoshop tutorials?

I would like to learn how to do particular effects with photoshop. This time, i have been searching forever for a tutorial on how to make someone faceless. Like their head is there, but its just kinda like a mannequin, just the shape of the face, no eyes, mouth, or nostrils. I know, right? that would be a wicked sweet facebook display pic!

other ideas i had were making someone into a mermaid, and making people's skin sparkle like in twilight, both of which i have not found tutorials for.
