How much work experience would I have to do to stand a sporting chance of getting into Oxford?

I want to do medicine at Oxford university but I have been slacking recently and have only done a week's work experience, how much would you recommend for a properly good chance at getting in? Bearing in mind I'm in Lower Sixth form so time is of the essence!
