Thoughts on decorating a unisex children's room?

My boyfriend's kids share our guest room when they're here for visits. His daughter is 5 and his son is 4. We have red metal, twin-sized bunk beds and a white toddler bed. There is no central theme to the room at all. Toys are scattered about and I don't think it's a very stimulating area. I was wondering what sort of decorating tips people have for this sort of situation. Keep in mind that I can't paint because we're renting the house. Thoughts?

The financial drain involved in buying new clothes for the kids is something that bewilders any parent and also puts them in a situation where they think if they would be able to support the expenses that will be met while the kid goes to school. So, the chances for the cloth getting worn out are pretty less.

But the gender is something that is hard to overcome, because the parents might prefer seeing their kids in a different color all together. This is where the purchase of gender-indifferent clothes, or unisex baby clothing comes. The problem related to genders can be easily resolved by getting unisex baby clothing rather than choosing a cloth that can be worn only by the male child, or by the female child. Some people might be fond of male kids while others prefer female kids, so, people generally don't have choice but to wait.

In case a couple is too sure that they will not stop with just one kid and have one more or even two more in the future, then, it is suggested that they go in for clothes that can be worn both by the male and female child, so, go in for the unisex baby clothing wherever possible, and do not throw them away immediately after your kid outgrows the best attire that it has ever worn till then. Instead, start using the hand me down technique and follow the chain to save some money out of clothing.
