Why is our society all about looks and who is the most beautiful?

I just got to wondering why all the hair commercials, lipstick commercials, etc, have women with gorgeous, silky, thick hair; amazingly round mouthes with smooth lips; perfectly straight teeth; and no blemishes on their skin? Who actually looks this perfect? Most girls I know are sort of average looking and it seems like it would take hours in a hair salon and in the gym to look as perfect as the TV commercial chicks look. What girl has hair that smooth, silky, and shiny without faking it with wigs, weaves and hair pieces? But all models on TV have perfect hair on their heads.

Why don't commercials ever use average looking women to advertise for them? Just a thought. But why is our society all about looks and who is the most beautiful? This is how it seems to me sometimes.

It's no mystery, it's all about money. While I have sympathy for your feelings about how media typically portrays sexual stereotypes as desirable - it does sell lipstick, and pimple cream, That is the bottom line, get the money. Not all ads depict the young and pretty. Ads are always targeted for a specific group of people by age, gender, race, income level, and many many other attributes. If you look in a magazine for weight loss, you'll see fat people, if you look at a magazine for AARP, you'll see old people, if you watch Saturday morning cartoons you see a lot of little kids, if you drive through a neighborhood that is predominantly African American you'll see billboards advertising products using African American models.

This should make you wary of what target audience you are in, and maybe even start you think about how to debunk a lot of the Commercial crap we are bombarded with.

What they do not realize is that lace bonding glue should never be applied directly to your own hair. This will end up in the wearer losing their hair edges over time from tension caused by the glue. If properly worn, a lace wig is a great way to protect your natural hair from harsh weather conditions and constant manipulation.

Lace wigs have become more innovative so that application is easier than ever. There are even synthetic hair lace front wigs with combs for quick and secure attachment. It is even more important to go to a stylist who knows what they are doing.

Since lace wigs are fairly new to the broader consumer market, stylists have not had the opportunity to practice these techniques. It is best to get a consultation about the lace wig itself and have a separate discussion concerning the application. Your stylists should be well versed in sheering hair to lessen the bulk of full hair, be able to measure your head for custom lace wigs, and advise you about the multiple application methods. If your stylist is as clueless as you or advocates in you leaving the wig on for a full 6-8 weeks, run!
